Bluesulphur shines with Silverlight

Using one of Microsoft’s latest visual technologies, Bluesulphur has joined with the development teams at Compsoft to deliver its first commercial Silverlight Application.

Silverlight, a Microsoft technology, delivers a superior user experience, enabling solutions to get the best out of web-based applications that rely on complex functionality in the background and introduces a new level of design-orientated navigation for interfaces and the display of ‘rich media’, like audio, video and other types of dynamic information.

Compsoft built a complex application, using its Equinox development platform, that handled all the bookings for Newquay-based hotel chain Reef Surf back in 2006. Reef Surf approached Compsoft initially with the requirement to add new functionality to the system that would provide reporting on daily, weekly and monthly sales for each member of the sales team. With in-house design agency Bluesulphur, Compsoft recommended Silverlight as the display tool because of the need for stunning design and interaction with ­­­­­live data. The design team created the imagery with Compsoft’s Equinox and .NET experts building the functionality that would calculate staff sales in relation to targets and feed the data through to the Silverlight Application.
